Krimml Wonder World of Water - Krimmler Wasserfälle - Austria

Krimml Falls -Krimmler Wasserfälle - is one of the most beautiful falls in the world. Unfortunately the day I arrived there the weather was bad, it was raining, and I couldn't go up, near the base of the waterfall.

If you cannot go there by foot, you can admire it from a mountain road; it has huge parking lots at the base of the waterfall and al the way up; one can climb by car up to 2200 m on this beautiful panoramic road. At every turn there are places where you can stop, from where you can watch the waterfall in all its glory, there are maps and benches where you can relax. You can climb to the top (here there is an area where you have to pay 7 euros to go on to Innsbruck).

Near the parking place, there is a place worth to be discovered: Water Museum (a rough translation:)).
Entry here is 6 euros per person - you have a free entry with the SalzburgerLand card.

Krimml Wonder World of Water is comprised of three distinct areas: Aqua Park, Water House and the Multivision Cinema.

Aqua park has to be tried in the summer. It has a lot of attractions for both children and for older ones: four control stations like giant "flowers" that can move and throw the water out at your opponents on the other side, another one that uses a doll that rises from the water and gets everybody around wet. Here you can swing in a special cradle: you on one side, water on the other side - a lever with which you can fill or empty a water tank on the oposite side so that you can balance.
There is also the educational Aqua park area: different modes of water transport and different water usages, with explanations on special displays.
Another attraction is a system of tiles placed on the floor, over which you must pass, seemingly innocuous at first glance - but if stepped on a wrong square, you will spray jets of water, either from the side or bottom (hence summer is better to try:))

Water House presents a brief "history" of water, different games made by it. Here you can see the history of Krimml waterfall. In one of the rooms is arranged on the walls a sort of quiz questions: some panels are displayed on various questions - if you answer correctly and press the corresponding tile other panels will move and you can see the explanation for your answer. Upstairs there is an observation point for the waterfall. Here you can see a 3D movie about the short history of the area (there are special glasses in handy baskets).

Then pass on to the multivison cinema: you can sit comfortably and watch the three adjacent screens different films about water and its role in history.
The exit is obviously made through the gift shop. If you are with the little ones this will surely be an educational experience.
